"The National Opposition has withdrawn co-operation with the Junior Government Whip," Shadow Leader of the House Roger
Sowry said today.
"The Junior Government Whip has shown no remorse for his obscene suggestion in the House yesterday, and has exacerbated
it with statements and interviews outside the Chamber.
"The management of the House involves honour, trust and respect between Whips and House leaders in the arranging of
business. Mr Gillon has breached the honour and trust which make these arrangements possible.
"The Prime Minister and the Leader of the Alliance must act to remove Grant Gillon from his position of Government Whip.
They should show leadership and standards.
"National MPs will not be co-operating in the House or in the Business Committee with Grant Gillon while he is still in
the job.
"The House has taken the very rare move of censuring Grant Gillon. The seriousness of his behaviour is highlighted by
the fact this is thought to be only the third time such censure action has been taken. "
