Gillon Thinks He’s Still A Fireman

Published: Tue 4 Jul 2000 07:10 PM
Grant Gillon must think he is still in a fireman’s smoko room, said Act Women’s Affairs spokesman Penny Webster.
Alliance senior Whip, Grant Gillon, today made disgusting and sexist comments in the House. The Speaker was out of earshot when the comments were made.
“The man has no sense of place or occasion.
“Robust debate in the House is alright, but Mr Gillon was absolutely over the top and offensive.
“His comments were made worse by a public gallery full of young families, who could deservedly expect more professionalism from a Member of Parliament.
“Mr Gillon no longer deserves to keep his job as Alliance senior Whip,” said Penny Webster.
