Member of Parliament for Waimakariri, Clayton Cosgrove, was admitted to hospital on Thursday 29 June for some minor back surgery.
Mr Cosgrove was discharged from hospital on Saturday and is now convalescing.
The surgery was a complete success and it is estimated that Mr Cosgrove’s recovery will take approximately two - three weeks. He is now doing constituency work out of Parliament.
“I will be continuing to work on all constituency matters whilst I am recovering and so as to ensure that the people of Waimakariri are not disadvantaged.
"I have arranged for a number of senior colleagues to come to Christchurch and attend my regular constituent clinics,” Mr Cosgrove said.
