The corrections portfolio is in complete disarray, says National's Justice spokesman Tony Ryall.
"Mr Robson can't say anything without being publicly hung out to dry by his senior colleague, Justice Minister Phil
Goff.
"Today's public dismissal of Mr Robson's plan to allow violent offenders - including rapists - the option of home
detention is the second time in a month that Mr Robson has had a policy in his corrections portfolio slammed by Labour.
"New Zealanders need to be able to rely on announcements by Ministers. We shouldn't have to wait for an announcement to
be verified, or otherwise, by a Labour Cabinet colleague.
"The Prime Minister needs to decide whether she trusts Mr Robson's judgement or not. He is responsible for the
Corrections portfolio and if he can't be left to get on with the job then he should be replaced by someone who can," Mr
Ryall said.
