Advisory Pre-Budget Biodiversity Funding

Pre-Budget announcement scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday 8 June) on funding for the Biodiversity Strategy
Three of the Cabinet Ministers involved with implementing the NZ Biodiversity Strategy (launched by the Government in March) will hold a short news briefing at Parliament tomorrow to announce the Budget funding set aside over the next five years to fund Strategy-related programmes and activities.
The Ministers at the announcement, making short statements and available for comment afterwards, will be:
* Sandra Lee, Minister of Conservation (Lead Minister)
* Pete Hodgson, Minister of Fisheries
* Marian Hobbs, Environment and Biosecurity Minister
Five News Releases and nine Fact Sheets will be issued. Departmental officials from DOC, MfE, and Fisheries will also be on hand to assist with technical/operational news media queries.
Venue: Parliamentary forecourt if fine, Beehive meeting room 5.1 if wet.
