What about the other low-income families Mr Gosche?
For every person who will benefit from the Government's income related rents policy five other low-income people will
miss out, says National's Housing spokesman Tony Ryall.
"Today's announcement is good news for those tenants lucky enough to qualify but around 19,000 Housing New Zealand
households will miss out. Many would have thought they qualified under Labour's credit card promise. But apparently not.
"What about the 260,000 low income people who earn the same or less than HNZ tenants but rent privately? Why are they
being treated unfairly?
"The last thing New Zealand needs is an unfair policy that only benefits those lucky enough to be in a state house.
"Labour claim this policy is targeting those most in need, but it's a scattergun approach that leaves most low-income
people out in the cold," Mr Ryall said.
