Select Committee head compromised
National wants the head of the select committee considering the Employment Relations Bill be removed from the position, Opposition Industrial Relations Spokesperson Max Bradford said.
"Graham Kelly has abused the select committee process with the advice he gave union meetings in the Wellington region about what will be done to give the union submissions priority treatment .
"His advice compromises his position as Chair.
"He refused to deny in Parliament today that he told unions he would arrange for the union submissions to be heard during the daytime when the media is there, and those anti-bill would be heard at night.
"The Chairperson's conduct will be raised at next Wednesday's meeting, and National will move a motion for him to leave the Chair."
