Health Waikato Appointments

Published: Wed 15 Mar 2000 02:46 PM
Health Minister Annette King today announced the appointment of MidCentral Health Ltd chairperson Ian Wilson as interim chairperson of Health Waikato Ltd.
Mrs King also announced a former Health Waikato chief executive, Dr Tony Cull, would join the board.
Mrs King said Mr Wilson would continue to chair MidCentral Health, but his experience and wisdom would be invaluable in getting Health Waikato "back on an even keel".
"There have been difficulties with the board, particularly in terms of information technology, and those difficulties still have to be resolved. I am confident Mr Wilson can do that job."
Mrs King said Dr Cull's appointment was also significant. "He has an intimate knowledge of Health Waikato, and he will also bring a strong public health perspective to the board.
"The two appointments can be seen as the beginning of the new board member profile that Health Waikato needs."
