Labour supports some media stars' salaries
Broadcasting Minister Marion Hobbs' statement in Parliament today that Brian Edwards salary was "an operational matter" shows that Labour has double standards when it comes to broadcasting issues.
"The Prime Minister and Marion Hobbs have both expressed disgust at the salaries paid to John Hawkesby and Paul Holmes, but when questioned today on what Ms Hobbs thought of Brain Edwards former $100,000 plus salary for four hours work on Saturday morning, Ms Hobbs had to rely on the "its an operational matter" response.
"It is no surprise that she does not have the same view of Mr Edwards salary as she does of Mr Hawkesby's or Mr Holmes, because Mr Edwards is also a media advisor to the Prime Minister.
"It's amazing that the Government are blind to the double standards which they are encouraging," Mrs Rich said.
