COUNCIL: The Manakau City Council is considering appealing a High Court decision that the council cannot destroy a dog for simply barking and running after at a postie.
CROP AND FOOD: Crop and Food say the uprooting of a genetically engineered potato crop this year has cost about $430,000 and delayed their work by over a year.
TENANTS: A Tenants group are calling for Housing NZ to give good tenants a one week rent rebate as an incentive for looking after their property.

PRESSURE: International pressure is mounting on Russia to halt their offensive in Chechnya.
SYRIA – ISRAEL: the leaders from the two countries have finished the first round of peace talks. They did not shake hands at the end. Bill Clinton said the two sides had agreed on confidence building measures.
