WATER QUALITY: The Dominion leads today with a report that drinking water in many hospitals and schools remains unsafe despite work by the Health and Education ministries during the past three years to improve its quality and monitoring.
COALITION SIGNING: The front-page photo shows a jubilant Helen Clark and Jim Anderton after the coalition signing agreement yesterday. An accompanying story says there was not a pair of Dirty Dog sunglasses in sight at the ceremony.

- LEAP YEAR AHEAD: a report that the things going askew in the year 2000 may not be just mechanical or electronic. Single men should remember that the year 2000 is also a leap year;
