NZ FIRST LIST: NZ First leader Winston Peters has defended his party list saying it was drawn up over two days in a democratic fashion by a committee of 18 members of the party. MP Jenny Bloxham says she feels publicly humiliated by her demotion.
WEST COAST FLOODING: More money wanted to control flooding and slips on the West Coast.
BIG STORM: Two trees have fallen down in Northland and a storm is lashing the northern tip of the North Island.
ROTORUA CRIME: Rotorua crime wave accompanies cuts in police numbers. Police Association says it warned of the problem.
ECONOMIC INDICATORS: A pick up in economic activity is tipped to be shown in unemployment and retail sales figures due out today.
HORSE OWNING: A racehorse owner from Levin has been ordered $8000 compensation from the Thoroughbred Racing Board after she complained that she had been ordered not to own race horses because of her partners criminal convictions.
SUPER YACHTS: Catering for super-yachts in Auckland will create a multi-million dollar industry in Auckland.
