Black Monday: France 43 All Blacks 31.
RUGBY LOSS: The French rugby team has delivered the biggest upset in World Cup history beating the All Blacks this morning by 43 points to 31. France scored four tries to NZ’s three.
CAMPAIGN LAUNCH: National Labour and NZ First gave clear indications of their election strategies at their campaign launches yesterday. The campaign has begun.
PLANE CRASH: An Egyptian plane has crashed off the coast of Massachusetts seemingly killing 214. An oil slick has been found by the coastguard.
BOY BURNT: Woman to be charged with assault after a 10-year-old is burnt in Whitianga on the weekend.
NORTH SHORE YOUTHS: 8 youths arrested at parties on the North Shore over the weekend.
CHILD PROSTITUTION: Manurewa community board tackling street prostitution among children who are having sex for tins of beef. The children are to be found homes. The community board says all it can provide is a bandaid.
INDIAN CYCLONE: 1.5 million homeless in Orissa, India, after a huge cyclone came ashore.
SPRAYDRIFT: A group representing the manufacturers of a chemical says it would be unlikely that spraydrift could have caused damage to 34 truckloads of plants as claimed by a garden centre.
CRICKET: Kumble claims 4 for 55 ripping through the end of the NZ innings in India.
