COROMANDEL: The Labour Leader Helen Clark has conceded that the race for the Coromandel Seat is between National and the Greens. Clark has not withdrawn Labour’s candidate but will leave it to voters to decide to vote tactically.
ALLIANCE ON GREENS: Jim Anderton does not want a third party involved in his coalition with Labour.
EAST TIMOR: The UN Security Council has voted unanimously to authorise a peace-keeping force in East Timor.
PIHA DROWNINGS: The police say two girls whose fathers died while trying to save them at Piha were not swimming between the flags. The two men got caught in a rip.
GOLFER CRASHES: US Golf Open champion Paine Stewart has died in a plane crash.
LABOUR POLICY: Labour is promising to review the minimum wage as part of its Labour policy launched on Labour Day yesterday. Steve Marshall of the Employers Federation says that the policies will put pressure on jobs.
SUICIDE: Young people who have attempted suicide will be asked why as part of a survey.
