Health Funding – Pakistan – East Timor – Cityjet – Nuclear Risks.
HEALTH FUNDING: The government has promised at extra $175 million for the health sector. Minister Wyatt Creech says it is nothing to do with the election. Meanwhile says Labour’s highest priority is reducing waiting lists.
PAKISTAN: The head of Pakistan’s military regime says the army does not intend to stay in power, but has not given a date for an election. A national security council will be convened to govern the nation.
EAST TIMOR: The NZ officer in charge of security in Dili East Timor says there are indications that militia may be peparing to attack Interfet forces.
CITYJET: Cityjet is back in the air today following a clearance from the Civil Aviation Authority of one of its aircraft. Cityjet has hired two other aircraft.
NUCLEAR RISKS: A secret nuclear fuel plant in the UK has safety flaws similar to those in the Japanese plant that hand a problem recently.
