TRAIN CRASH: Two Kiwis are though to have died in London's worst rail crash. They are: 28 year old Alan Stewart and 20 year old Matt Macauley. The death toll has now reached 80 and many more are expected. The crash was caused by a train running a red light.
LOANS: The government has announced it is considering changed to the student loan scheme before the election. Students are unimpressed.
STAGECOACH: Stagecoach workers in Auckland went on strike all day today over new contracts they do not want to sign. 600 out of 900 drivers have already signed.
AMBUSH: Kiwi SAS soldiers were thought to be involved in an ambush of a UN convoy in which two Australian troops were wounded and two militiamen were shot dead.
SPIKING: The charge of spiking a drink has been withdrawn in a rape trial after a nurse administered the drug. Charges or rape and sodomy remain.
CRASH: A Hawkes Bay helicopter pilot died in Stratford when his helicopter hit power lines today. He was 39.
