FEES: Canterbury students stormed their University's registry building today to try and persuade the University Council to oppose a fee rise of up to 45 per cent. Fees could possibly rise from $3200 to $4600. The University say their reserves are exhausted and have no choice. Students say the University should cut back on other spending and stop trying to return a profit. The fees will be set tomorrow.
SPENCER OUT: The nightmare season for All Black Carlos Spencer came to a disappointing close today. He has seriously injured his knee at training and is on his way home for an appointment with a surgeon.
MURDER: A man has been charged with the murder of 31 year old Terri King whose body was found in the Tararuas with a gunshot wound.

CRASH: A bus crash in South Africa has left 19 people dead after their bus plunged down a 30 meter bank.
RAPE TRIAL: A 24 year old woman gave evidence in court today that two men raped and sodomised her after her drinks were spiked at a bar.
CARDNO: The father of murdered teenager Karla Cardno has been charged with threatening to kill his daughters murderer.
