CARDNO KILLER: The killer and rapist of teenager Karla Cardno, Paul Daly, has been denied parole by the Parole Board.
Daly has served 10 years. The Parole Board will not comment on the decision.

US – CHINA: The US is welcoming China’s offer of aid to quake striken Taiwan, following a period of tense relations

QUAKE: The Taiwan quake has killed nearly 2000 people and thousands are missing and injured.
SOLDIERS: 60 more Kiwi soldiers have left Ohakea for Darwin en route to East Timor this morning. Another 60 are going
