EAST TIMOR – NEW YORK: Ali Alatas says conditions will not be imposed on a a peacekeeping force for East Timor. Earlier he said he was not keen on ANZAC forces being involved.
EAST TIMOR – UNAMET: The head of the UN mission in East Timor Ian Martin is calling for the peacekeepers to be brought in immediately in the face of reports of starvation and continued intimidation.
SCOTT WATSON: One of the lawyers for Scott Watson says the media coverage of his client since his conviction has been prejudicial.
RUSSIAN BOMB: US offers have been made to assist the Russian’s after a bomb went off in Moscow destroying an apartment building.
BROADCASTING STANDARDS: TV3 has been found to have breached broadcasting standards in a story about a Dunedin choirmaster and fined $105,000.
MT HIKURANGI: A recreational group is to challenge a government decision to grant Mt Hikurangi to Ngati Porou in court.
