TAX CUT DEAL: Tau Henare and Mauri Pacific are promising the government five votes to get tax cut legislation through in return for $15 million of money to fund Maori initiatives. ACT and Labour are disgusted.
CULLEN OUT: Michael Cullen was suspended from the debating chamber for 24 hours this afternoon after calling the opposition liars.
WATSON: Suppressed evidence from Tuesday was released today. People who knew Watson said he told them he hated women, would like to kill one and that he would like to kill everybody in a bar.
JANET PIKE: An Auckland beneficiary has pleaded guilty to the murder of ACC worker Janet Pike earlier this year.
CHOUDRY: Activist Aziz Choudry has reached a settlement with the government over two SIS agents who illegally broke into his house three years ago. He has received an apology from the Crown and an undisclosed but “substantial” settlement. Choudry was seeking $300,000.
JETSKI KILLING: A man has been sentenced to 18 months prison after being found guilty of manslaughter after ramming his jetski into a mans dinghy.
MIAMI: 60 airport workers and airline staff have been arrested after a drug sting centering around Miami airport.
SYDNEY WHALE: There is a whale in Sydney Harbour. It has been there a week.
QANTAS: The NZRFU has stopped Qantas staff wearing the official All Black jersey on flights to the Bledisloe Cup this wekend. Air New zealand objected as they are main sponsors.
