QUAKE: Rescue teams, sniffer dogs and money is flooding into Turkey as the death toll from the huge earthquake tops 4,000. Many more are still trapped inside toppled apartment towers in sweltering heats and the death toll is rising all the time. It was the biggest earthquake in 60 years and the pictures show complete devastation.
DOGS: A parliamentary select committee has been told an effort to ban pit bull terriers is an ill considered vote-catcher by the likes of the NZ Kennel Club and the NZ Veterinary Association.
TAURANGA DEATH: The body of a woman found under a mattress on a property on the outskirts of Tauranga was shot in the head with a small calibre weapon three times. Police are scouring the scene.
TRAIN CRASH: A train crash in the Aussie outback has ended up with 19 people being airlifted to hospital. A kiwi couple suffered bruising and no cause has yet been established.
