1. ABDUCTEE - A nurse kidnapped in Chechnya, Geraldo Ribeiro, has been released answering the prayers of his New Zealand partner. The release followed a raid by Russian Commandoes more than two months after he was kidnapped.
2. CAR CHASE - Police in Auckland have been involved in another damaging car chase, less than a week after a man was killed following another chase. This time however it was a low speed chase resembling the OJ procession. The man fled from police and stole a car, driving away at 50-60kmh and stopping at give away signs. Eventually the man was forced off the road.
3. BOMB - Police in Wanganui say a boy who bled to death received his injuries from a home made bomb, investigations are continuing.
4. LIGHTENING - The Sky Tower was a prime target for a series of spectacular lightening strikes. A group of window cleaners fled indoors. The weather caused problems with surface flooding in Auckland.
5. FOG - Heavy fog in Christchurch disrupted air travel and caused problems on the roads.
6. MOON - 30 years ago today, Neil Armstrong first walked on the moon. TVNZ looks back at the day in New Zealand and people’s memories of it.
7. HILARY - Another great explorer celebrated last night. Sir Edmund Hilary was eighty. Tributes and champagne flowed.
