1. METEOR FOOTAGE - Astronomers are still trying to find it, but TV3 has gained some spectacular footage of last week’s
meteor explosion over New Zealand. The family on holiday in the South Island were lost and videoing. Scientists say it
is one of the best bits of video footage of a meteor and probably only the third time one has been caught on film
2. MANA - The Maori leader who resigned from his senior National Party position yesterday after the mana story has
responded. He says the storm of criticism is mudraking, the issue of mana was never used by him but raised by the judge.
3. PETROL - Petrol prices are to go up three cents from midnight, Shell first announced the move, others are following
suit.
4. FACTORY CLOSURE - Another factory is closing down, this time the last light bulb manufacturing plant in the country,
in Mirimar, Wellington. The manager said tariff reductions meant they could not compete with Asian imports.
5. HIV - A 36 year old man appeared in Christchurch District Court today and admitted having unprotected sex while
having HIV.
6. MURDERER - A man wanted for at least 8 murders in the USA has handed himself over to police, because he was scared of
being shot by bounty hunters.
7. IRAN - About 10,000 students have continued protests despite the activities of vigilantes and police to break up the
protests in favour of free speech.
8. FLU - There could soon be relief for people who want flu vaccinations and hate injections. It acts as a spray up the
nose.
9. FAT FIGHTER - A bread spread that actually reduced cholesterol will be going on sale soon here in New Zealand.
10. TEST TICKETS - One of the All Black greats, Kevin Skinner, is putting the boot into the rugby union for giving old
All Blacks bad tickets to test matches.
