1. NATIONAL - The National Party conference is underway in Wellington with Jenny Shipley declaring National the party of winners. Mrs Shipley also said there would be tax cuts, but they would not come at the expense of social spending. The PM says country has choice of moving forward under National or backwards otherwise. TV1's political editor says National will have to pull all the stops out to win the election through gaining back swinging voters, but National party workers are surprisingly chipper in the face of recent adversity. Tomorrow Bill English will give more details about tax cut plan.
2. MERCY DASH - Christchurch has become the centre of a daring mercy dash to the Antarctic. A US airforce plane is to drop all the equipment to set up a cancer clinic to help a women with early stage breast cancer. She cannot be flown out because of the winter conditions and the air drop faces many difficulties because of the dark and cold.
3. WEDDING RESCUE - A wedding party on a boat turned lifesavers after they jumped into the water to save a fisherman stranded when his dinghy overturned.
4. ROLLING STONE - Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall have officially split. There wedding in Bali is to be annulled and the separation will be an amicable one.
