1. ACC REFORM: More than half the country's employers are sticking with the state for their accident insurance. 98,000 have chosen private sector insurance and at least 100,000 will be allocated to the SOE for a minimum period of three months. This is better participation at this time than we had forecast says Murray McCully.
2. DODGY TEACHER: Teachers registration board says the teacher suspended in Northland after failing a chemistry exam has a current practicing certificate. Extensive inquiries have failed to verify alleged degrees from Auckland and Delhi. However the teachers registration board says he is registered, his credentials were recognised by the old department of education.
3. BENEFIT FRAUD: $76 million of benefit fraud found as a result of $1.5 million dob-in-a-beneficiary campaign - 10500 calls investigated - 1900 cases of overpayments found - mainly to DPB beneficiaries.
4. WTO: Thai politician says no clear winner has emerged because of a dispute over workers rights. He told Kim Hill the point of contention was labour relations.
5. SCOTT WATSON TRIAL: The jury in the murder trial of Scott Watson is now examining the boat .
6. BUSH MURDER: A 25 strong police team is investigating friends and family of a dead Wellington man found in the Tararua ranges.
7. SIMON POELMAN APPEAL: Athlete Simon Poelman has had his appeal over drug smuggling charges heard in the Court of Appeal. Lawyer Peter Kay says the appeal is based on fresh evidence that the package containing the drugs had been tampered with. The court will rule tomorrow.
