CURTIS FOUND: Police say the arrest of drug lord Brian Curtis in the Philippines was made possible by co-operation between international police agencies. Curtis escaped from Paremoremo Prison in 1983.
ENZA: A Crown Law opinion says it would be illegal for Enza to charge apple growers for future foreign exchange losses. A former Hawkes Bay apple industry leader says the dispute between Enza and growers is the worst crisis the industry has faced.
FOOD SAFETY: The Greens are warning that they believe changes by the Australian Parliament to the authority that sets trans-Tasman food safety standards will mean trade and industry concerns will hold sway over public health. NZ has won some changes to the Australian legislation.
SOES: National Finance Spokesperson Bill English says the SOE model is breaking down because of political interference, and says the NZ Post Board stoush is a symptom of the growing problem. He says the only solution is to sell SOEs into private commercial hands. But Greens Co-leader Rod Donald says the resolution of the stoush shows it can work.
MACEDONIA: The Macedonian Government and Ethnic Albanian rebels have signed separate cease-fires with Nato to end months of fighting.
HELICOPTER CRASH: Seven people have been killed after a helicopter with 12 people aboard crashed off the East Coast of South Korea.

MYSTERY WASP: The puzzle of unidentified wasp family has been solved, with scientist declaring the species unique to New Zealand. The insect is being seen by scientists as a link to the insects from the time of the dinosaurs.
