AIR WARS: There are concerns that smaller regions have been left out in the cold during Air New Zealand’s expansion. Air

PLANE PIECES FALL OFF: The transport accident commission say it will take up to three months to determine the cause of a
piece falling off an Air New Zealand 767 through the roof of an Auckland warehouse.
ISRAEL: The US is planning to step up its involvement in the Middle East. Secretary of State Colin Powell says the
pressure is now on the Palestinians and the Israelis to implement the Mitchell Report recommendations.
TERTIARY EDUCATION BUDGET: The Government says it is still confident that Tertiary Institutions will accept the
government’s offer of an increase in return for a continued fee freeze. National’s Tertiary Spokesman says the offer
does not even match inflation.
FIJI: The Army in Fiji is on high alert waiting for the result of a court case concerning the legitimacy of the Fijian
President.
SERBIA: The leader of an ethnic Albanian rebel group in Southern Serbia has agreed to disarm. Lots of civilians in the
affected area have already been evacuated by Red Cross.
HOLMES ACC SHOCKER: The Accident Compensation Corporation says it wants extremely sensitive information left on a
computer hard drive returned. And they are considering taking action against the Holme’s Show. A Spokesman for TVNZ says
that Holmes thought the broadcast was in the public interest.
TRANZRAIL FINED: A court has ordered that TranzRail is responsible for an accident in which a rock caught in a mower hit
a woman sitting on her porch. TranzRail has been fined $15,000. Business New Zealand say the case has widened the scope
of OSH legislation.
