- PAID PARENTAL LEAVE: Thousands of part-time workers will get paid parental leave along with fulltime workers when the scheme begins on April 1 next year.
- PSYCH PATIENT: A psychiatric patient, whose illness has been blamed on the trauma of armed police strip-searching her as they hunted the killer of Constable Glenn McKibbin, was arrested for refusing to leave Hawke’s Bay Hospital’s grounds after being “kicked out” of the psychiatric unit at midnight.
