MATERNITY SERVICES: The Health Minister has rejected a claim from the Medical Association that there will be tragic consequences for maternity services unless changes are made. Dr Pippa McKay says the system is a dangerous one.

INTERNET PHARMACIES: People are being asked to think carefully before buying medication over the internet. Kerry Bell – an Auckland Pharmacist – has been fined heavily for selling prescription drugs online to people living offshore.
PINOCHET: A Chilean Appeal Court has decided that General Augusto Pinochet can stand trial for human rights abuses.
BALLERINA DIES: A very famous ballerina from Ireland has died.
