KIWI BANK: The Alliance Leader Jim Anderton says the People’s Bank will avoid high risk lending to the corporate sector and so avoid the need for a costly bailout like the BNZ. Jim says that makes the bank a safe investment for the taxpayer.
KIWI BANK: ACT Leader Richard Prebble says he won’t give back a leaked copy of the Kiwi Bank’s business plan. He has challenged NZ Post to “Make My Day” by threatening legal action.
MARIE JAMIESON: Auckland Police are trying to piece together the final moments of Auckland woman Marie Jamieson. They want to speak to all of Jamieson’s associates. Police say they should have more information following completion of forensic tests.
VET STRIKE: MAF and striking vets say they are available to meet today to discuss the strike. The vets say they have pared back their claim to a 10% increase and a $5000 industry allowance.
