TVNZ SALARIES: The head of a select committee charged with reviewing TVNZ says the committee was surprised when the broadcaster said it could not control its rising salaries.
VET STRIKE: Vets in the meat industry have delayed a strike for 48 hours following threats of legal action from farmers.
CHILD SAFETY: The Commissioner for Children Roger McLay says he is delighted that government agencies are now working together to combat child abuse.
INDONESIA: The Indonesian Parliament has censured President Wahid in relation to two money scandals, potentially paving the way for impeachment proceedings.
LOCKERBIE: The Libyan leader has refused to accept the verdict in the Lockerbie bombing trial, he says he will reveal new information about the bombing shortly.
MAORI FISH: All parties involved in the litigation over Maori fisheries assets have agreed to negotiations.
PUBLIC SERVICE: Dean of Law Matthew Palmer says government attacks on public servants are on the increase.
MARK MIDDLETON: The jury in the Mark Middleton “threatening to kill” trial will resume deliberating this morning.
ROBERT MAHUTA: Thousands are expected to visit Sir Robert Mahuta’s coffin today as his Tangi continues.
THE RACE: Grant Dalton’s catamaran Club Med is expected to sail through the Cook Strait today halfway through a round the world race called “The Race”.
