ONE4B: The Medical Association is calling to the banning of One4B. The association is concerned that the publicity being
given to the drug will be encouraging people to use it more. Meanwhile the drug’s distributor says it is being taken off
the market. In the US the drugs are thought responsible for several deaths.
PART TIME SOLDIERS: The PM says she has pledged to protect the jobs of Army Territorials working for the government.
Some MPs want protection for Territorials in private employment too.
NAPIER ASSAULT: Police in Napier say they do not think they overstepped the mark in saying they were concerned about the
activities of a pedophile. The man accused of luring boys to watch pornographic videos has been assaulted by four
intruders.
EARTHQUAKE: The rescue effort continues in India four days after a massive quake in the North West. Aid is starting to
get through.
INDONESIA: Indonesian police last night fired tear gas at students who were trying to storm Parliament . The students
were protesting over corruption allegations.
PINOCHET: The former military dictator of Chile has been charged over the deaths of more than 70 murders and abductions.
Augusto Pinochet is to be placed under house arrest.
MOZAMBIQUE FLOODS: Torrential rain in Mozambique is causing dangerous floods.
MURDER INQUIRY: The police are trying to track the movements of people in central Auckland around the time of the murder
of a young man last week.
WOMEN FOUND: Three women who had been missing tramping in the Wairarapa have been found.
