TERRALINK: The CEO of Land Information NZ says he is not surprised at the decision to put Terralink into receivership.

EL SALVADOR: More than 500 people are now known to have died in the El Salvador earthquake but more than 1000 are still
missing. Rescuers say they are running out of time. 1000s are sleeping in the open following the quake.
OPEC: A meeting of OPEC in Vienna tomorrow night is expected to result in a rise in the cost of oil and flow through to
increases in petrol prices.
GUINEA: Aid workers have been evacuated from southern Guinea in Africa. Aid workers have been withdrawn from one town
leaving 200,000 people destitute.
US BOMBING REWARD: The US Government has announced a reward of $10 million for information on who is responsible for
bombing a US warship in Aden, Yemen.
LAKE HOROWHENUA: Horowhenua District Council have banned the public from Lake Horowhenua where a dangerous algal bloom
is present.
STUDENT LOANS: The NZUSA says it is encouraged by changes made to the processing of student loans this year. Work and
Income offices have been set up on campuses. Correspondence is also better. The real test of the system will come in
March.
MAORI EDUCATION: A report says that students taught in the Maori language are doing no better than Maori students in
other schools. Maori students say they are far from disappointed in the report.
STICKMEN: The NZ Film Stickmen has premiered in Wellington. Viewers at the premiere liked it.
