Parry Struck Off – Dairy Merger – Teina’s Crash – Burglar Family
- PARRY STRUCK OFF: Gynaecologist Graham Parry has been struck off the Medical Register. Two months ago he was found
guilty of disgraceful conduct for his failure to diagnose Cervical Cancer in a Pahia woman. The woman said the
punishment was harsh but fair. Three years ago he failed to carry out an internal examination of the woman, despite all
the signs being there that she had cervical cancer. Dr Parry’s lawyer said Dr Parry was very disappointed with the
decision and will be considering his options. The woman’s cancer is now terminal and she is in considerable pain. She is
taking legal action against Dr Parry. There are 41 other complaints against Dr Parry lodged with the Medical Council.
- DAIRY MERGER: The on again off again merger between the country’s two biggest dairy companies, Kiwi Dairy Co-op and
the New Zealand Dairy Group, is on again. The merger should mean some loss of jobs, but greater profits for the dairy
industry, one of New Zealand’s key exports, worth $10 billion a year. The government says its delighted the dairy
industry has finally come to a decision on its future, but said cabinet will have consider the public interest and the
interests of overseas trading partners in the merger.
The agreement needs the backing of there quarters of dairy farmers to go ahead.
- TEINA’S CRASH: Police have charged All Black Jonah Lomu’s girlfriend Teina Stace over an accident while she was
driving Lomu’s car. She is charged with careless driving and failing to comply with the terms of her learner’s license.
Ms Stace was trapped in the car for an hour with a broken arm.
- BURGLAR FAMILY: Residents of a Hamilton east suburb are being warned by police to take extra care of their homes,
after a family of burglars moved in. Police say the family have committed more than 200 burglaries and dishonesty
offences.
