MURRAY STRETCH KILLER APPEAL: Colleagues of murdered police officer Murray Stretch are upset about a decision to reduce
his killer’s minimum non—parole sentence by two years to 16 years. The Police Association says the reduction in the
sentence is a kick in the guts.
MICHELLE BOAG: National Party members are looking at an eight month contest for the presidency of the party. Auckland
businesswoman Michelle Boag says she wants to rebuild the party and improve its resources.

SERIAL ARSONIST: The police in Paraparaumu fear the work of a serial arsonist could lead to someone being hurt or
killed. There have been a couple of serious fires and lots of small fires recently.
AUSSIES UPSET BY APPLES: Up to 80% of businesses will shut in the Australian town of Shepherdtown today to protest the
importation of NZ apples.
