- MAORI OUTNUMBERED: Three Government ministries have held meetings for Maori in 10 regions during the past two months
to consult them on global warming, but only 75 Maori turned up, and it is understood officials outnumbered those
attending at some meetings.

- RURAL PHONES: About 380,000 rural and small town phone customers will still be protected under the Kiwi Share
agreement, even though Telecom is considering bringing in other firms to run provincial services.
