OPEC: OPEC Ministers have agreed to raise production by 3% or 800,000 barrels of oil a day. This figure was at the top end of market expectations. Analysts say it is not enough however.
PETROL PRICES: Oil Companies in NZ warn that even if crude prices fall lower petrol prices may be months away.

SIERRA LEONE: British Troops have stormed a Westside Boys base in Sierra Leone killing 17 members of the group and rescuing six hostages. 11 members of the Westside Boys were captured in the operation.
MEDICAL MISHAPS: Hospitals and health services could face new reporting requirements for medical mishaps according to a health working party.
KOREAN OLYMPICS: Will march as one team at the Olympic opening ceremony in Sydney. The decision was announced by the IOC.
OLYMPIC FLAME: The Olympic Flame has finally arrived in Sydney but has been briefly kidnapped.
CANADIAN GOLF: Grant Waite is beating Tiger Woods by one stroke in the Canadian golf open.
