TIMOR: The UN has evacuated all its staff from West Timor in the wake of attacks at Atambua.
DOLLAR: The NZ Dollar has fallen to new all-time lows against the US Dollar of US41.65 cents.
PM AND DOLLAR: The PM has been meeting with bankers and economists in New York who have suggested that NZ adopt a single currency with Australia and a combined share market.
EURO: Pressure is also coming on European Central Bankers to support a very low Euro currency.
TRANZRAIL SAFETY: Tranzrail says it is confident it can address safety issues raised in a Ministerial Inquiry into deaths in the rail industry.
ORANGE ROUGHY: Commercial Fishing Operator Moana Pacific says it is disappointed about the extent of cuts in the Orange Roughy fishery.
BOUGAINVILLE: A Boungainville peace summit has ended satisfactorily according to a Bougainvillean leader.
ANSETT PILOT: After a four day hearing in Palmerston North a judge will now decide whether former Ansett Pilot Garry Southeran will face charges of manslaughter.
CATTLE RUSTLING: Police in Northland are investigating cattle and calf rustling complaints.
NORTHLAND FORESTY: Northland councils are asking for government help to build roads for a burgeoning forestry industry.
