LOCAL GOVT NZ: Several members of the Local Government New Zealand Council say they will support the President and Vice
President in their handling of departed chief executive Carol Stigley.
- REACTION OF COUNCILS: The chair of the Wellington Regional Council says most of the 86 councils around the country
want a full formal meeting of Local Government NZ.
- JONES KILLER: The national coordinator of the Alternatives to Violence Programme says the killer of Journalist Kylie
Jones was not responsible for running the programme in prison, although he did participate in the scheme.
- FIJI ASSAULT: Fiji’s military forces admitted they were wrong assaulting and beating five men on the island of Vanua
Levu whom they thought were rebel supporters although they refuse to apologise.
