FIJI COUP: A Fiji Coup spokesman says that the rest of the hostages will not be released until the Military meet their
side of the accord. The Military is supposed to issue a decree dissolving their government first, says Joe Nata. The
Great Council of Chiefs are not due to meet till after the remaining hostages are released. George Speight and his
supporters have nominated their appointees for the new government. George Speight is not on the list.

SACKED HEALTH BOARD:The nurses organisation wants wider enquires into the Gisborne Hospital laboratory. Local nurses say
they have raised problems about management at the hospital in the past.
SACKED HEALTH BOARD: The Chair of the sacked Gisborne Health Board says she takes no issue with the Minister’s decision
to sack the board. She says the board was trying to find the extent of the problem with prostrate cancer.
MIDDLE EAST PEACE: President Bill Clinton has begun a second day of intense peace negotiations at Camp David. The
parties are working towards a September 13th deadline for a peace agreement. An informal atmosphere at Camp David is
helping. Mr Arafat is seeking to hold a gathering of Palestinian leaders.
NIGERIA BLAZE: Fire has broken out again at the site of the pipeline blaze that killed 250 people. The exact death toll
will never be known. A youth leader says that the pipeline was vandalised because of poverty.
VAARROA BEE MITES: The decision not to eradicate the Vaarroa bee mite has been greeted with anger and despair by
beekeepers.
COP DRUG DEALER: A Horowhenua Police Officer will appear in court today charged with posession of cannabis for supply. A

CORNWALL SUITE: The Minister of Health has told hospitals not to dabble in private health care. National Women’s
Hospital in Auckland has been asked to close the Cornwall Suite.
