GOFF TO SOLOMONS: The Foreign Affairs Minister Phil Goff has arrived in Sydney and hopes to fly to Honiara tomorrow
along with an Australian delegation including Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer.
SOLOMONS EVACUATION: The renewed evacuation of foreigners from the Solomons Islands has been going on this morning from
the Honiara yacht club– 33 New Zealanders went on the boat last night and more are expected this morning.
SOLOMON’S COUP UPDATE: It appears that the Solomon’ Prime Minister Barthalomew Ulufa'alu has been released from
capitivity and is under un-armed guard.
FIJI CRISIS: In Fiji the Commonwealth Ministerial Group visit has been delayed after a request by the military who want
to appraise the situation in Fiji before the Ministers’ arrival. They want the meeting postponed until next Friday.
Meanwhile, NZ Foriegn Minister Phil Goff's office has reportedly been trying to convince the military to move the
meeting time forward.
TAXI DRIVER IMMIGRANT MURDERED: The police say a taxi driver who died after being in stabbed in Lower Hutt, was a
27-year-old Sri Lankan, who arrived in New Zealand three years ago.
