AIRWAYS GOLDEN HANDSHAKES: The Dominion leads today with a report that Airways Corporation paid out hundreds of thousands of dollars to executives who were removed from the state owned enterprise.
DUTCH EXPLOSION: The front-page photo shows a scene from the site of the explosion in Holland looking like a war zone. An accompanying report says rescue teams searched yesterday for survivors of a blast at a fireworks warehouse that devastated a residential area of the Dutch city of Enschede, killing at least 20 people and injuring more than 300.

- SPILT MILK: a report that up to 600 litres of thick cream spilled over an eight kilometre stretch of State Highway 3 in Taranaki at 8.15am yesterday seriously disrupting traffic for several hours;
- GENITALS CAUGHT: a report that an Auckland home handyman had an excruciating half-hour when his genitals became caught in a belt-sander at the weekend;
- RIMU CONTRACTS: a report that the Government is expected to drop the axe on Timberlands West Coast rimu logging contracts today, signalling that Deputy PM Jim Anderton and Finance Minister Michael Cullen have lost their battle with Cabinet colleagues;
