PLANE CRASH: Emergency services are at the scene of a light plane crash near Kaitaia where one man has been killed.
PILOT TRIAL: A former Ansett Pilot charged with manslaughter made a brief appearance in the Palmerston District Court
this morning. The pilot Gary Southeren was involved in the Dash Eight Crash which killed passengers last decade.
JAIL BREAK: Two men who broke out of Auckland’s Mt Eden Prison last week are still at large and police are warning the

CAPSIZED LINER: Ship surveyors are en-route to the Envy World Discover liner which capsized after hitting a reef near
the Solomon Islands. All the tourists have been evacuated to the Solomons.

QUAKE DAMAGE: The Earthquake Commission says almost a million dollars worth of claims have been filed after a 5 point
scale earthquake centred near Taranaki. Over 500 claims were made all from private properties.
