ZIMBABWE VIOLENCE: The foreign Minister Phil Goff says New Zealand is doing all it can on the diplomatic front to stop
the violence against Zimbabwe farmers.
MUGABE LASHES OUT: Earlier President Mugabe launched a blistering attack on the country’s farmers for opposing the
constitutional changes the Zimbabwe government made earlier in the year and supporting the opposition party. He called
them enimies of the state.
INTEREST RATES UP: The cost of home and interest loans are set to rise again after the Reserve Bank increased the base
cash rate by a quarter of a per cent to six per cent total.
HFA REVIEW: The Health Funding Authority is reviewing the Cervical Smear results of laboratory nationwide but it’s
findings wont be revealed until July.
MAORI CANCER: The Inquiry is also looking at whether the Authority fulfilled its obligations to Maori women who have
higher rates of cervical cancer.
HEP C PAYOUTS: The Health Minister Annette King says patients who caught Hepititus C through blood transfusions will get
a payout from the Government. However a Hep C victim says the deal does not look like a good one.
CHINA HUMAN RIGHTS: China has headed off moves to condemn its human rights record in a United Nations conference in
Geneva.
SANCTIONS BUSTING: The UN Security Council is taking up the controversial Unita sanctions busting report which showed
various countries including the Ukraine and Nigeria ignored UN economic sanctions.
BEE EXPORTS: Bee exports to Canada are still on hold has more tests are being made to ensure the bees are not resistant
to the Canadian cure for the Varroa mites.
LISA BLAKIE: The head of the ten week old Lisa Blakie investigations says more work needs to be done on a property in
Darfield.
TELECOM IN COURT: A computer magazine columnist is taking Telecom to court over the right to charge consumers over the

HOBBS NEEDS MONEY: A Cabinet Minister Marian Hobbs says she needs more money to get better staff after her performance
in the job as Broadcasting Minister is under scrutiny from the Prime Minister’s office.
