Cervical Cancer Inquiry - Share Market Bounce Back - Woolen Suits For Team
CERVICAL CANCER INQUIRY: Serious doubts were raised about retired Gisborne Pathologist Dr Michael Bottrill 11 years ago when a health department report had described him as “laid back to the point of almost falling over.” The inquiry also raised concerns about the standard of diagnosis for women in other parts of the country.
SHARE MARKET BOUNCE BACK: While buyers have flooded back into world sharemarkets the New Zealand stock exchange only recovered slightly after an afternoon slump. The big gains internationally were the internet stocks with big benefactors being the established internet companies, the losers the newer “dotcom” companies. In New Zealand, Fletcher Energy rose again after a sharp drop yesterday.
WOOLEN SUITS FOR TEAM: There is a new look for our 280 strong Olympic team in suits of 100 per cent home-grown Merino wool. A team of the athletes’ designed the suits.
