Sharemarket – Interest Rates – Singapore Airlines – Mokai School – GE Inquiry
SHARE MARKET: Share prices in North America have settled after dramatic falls. The Dow Jones, Nasdaq and S are all up strongly on close.
INTEREST RATES: The Reserve Bank Governor Don Brash will make an announcement on interest rates tomorrow. Most expect a rise of 0.25% in the cash rate.
SINGAPORE AIRLINES: The Government has given approval to Singapore Airlines to acquire 25% of Air New Zealand.
MOKAI SCHOOL: The Ministry of Education wants assurances concerning education standards following a Waitangi Tribunal recommending the reopening of the small North Island school of Mokai.
GE INQUIRY: The Green Party is questioning the point of having a moratorium on field trials when most trials will be allowed to continue.
