Crash Deaths - Student Protests - Wanganui Charges - Rotorua Attack- Waiter Attacked
CRASH DEATHS: A helicopter crashed after it clipped power lines in the west Arm of Lake Manapori in Fiordland, killing all five people on board. The passengers were all thought to be American tourists. The crash has shocked the area though locals say they do not expect long term damage to tourism in the area.
STUDENT PROTESTS: In Wellington student protestors have occupied Victoria University's registry office and many will remain there overnight. Two staff members were reportedly hurt as the students stormed the building.
WANGANUI CHARGES: Police have laid new charges against a man charged with knocking two boys of a Wanganui bridge. Charged with Manslaughter. The mother of the one of the boys describes how difficult the situation leading up to the pre-trial was.
WAITER ATTACKED: A reward has been offered after a brutal attack on an Auckland waiter. The suspect has been identified by police.
ROTORUA ATTACK: A 19-year-old man has been charged with attempting to kill a police officer in Rotorua after he stabbed the constable with an awl used for shoe repair during his arrest. The Policeman says a packet of cigarettes saved his life.
