ARMING FARMERS: An Auckland QC says it is dangerous for farmers to arm themselves to defend themselves from drug dealers growing cannabis on their land. A Federated Farmers official has encouraged farmers to arm themselves.
POPE IN HOLY LAND: The highest officials in Israel have turned out to welcome Pope John Paul II arrive in Tel Aviv. He has urged Christians and Jews to live together in peace.
PRESIDENT CLINTON IN SOUTH ASIA: President Bill Clinton has urged India to reopen a dialogue with Pakistan over the disputed province of Pakistan. The Pakistan Foreign Minister has encouraged the President in his quest for peace.
SNAKES ALIVE: Greens say NZ needs tighter border controls following the discovery of another snake – this time in Christchurch.
TB: Drs calling for action to deal with the rising incidence of TB especially among immigrants. They want the screening procedures reviewed.
