HORROR ROAD SMASH: Six people including two children are dead when a van collided head-on with a meat truck north of
Invercargil. A police constable said it was the worst he had seen in 12 years working in the force. Police have mounted
a homicide like inquiry into the cause of the collision. It’s more than a year since six have died in a single road
crash.

MAORI COLLEGE DOES WELL: A Maori college, Huntley School has been given top marks by the New Zealand Qualifications
Authority after it opted out the traditional national qualifications system. Last year over 90 per cent of its students
