BOYS MISSING IN WANGANUI: Wanganui is a town in shock tonight as the town searches for two boys who are believed to have
been knocked off a bridge into a river in a hit-and-run. Police have charged a 63 year old Wanganui man for failing to
stop after an accident. A member of the mans family called the police. The boys parents are left in anguish. The
arrested man is expected to appear in court early next week.
POOL DROWNING: The body of a man has been found dead in a swimming pool in Auckland -police say circumstances are not
suspicious. The man was a homeless person.
SNOWBOARDERS: The family of three missing snowboarders in Japan are frustrated by the slowness of the Japanese response
to a search call. Police told the mother that they had not even stepped onto the avalanche at the top and searched after
they returned. Police are defending their actions and saying they will scale the search down now.
FRANKENFISH: A Nelson based company which is accused of breeding mutant frankenfish has decided to suspend its research
programme. King Salmon however says it is not bowing to public pressure. The work at the research facility had worked
through three generations of Salmon. Sue Kedgley of the Green Party says it is extremely fortunate that the programme
has been abandoned.
AMERICAS CUP: There was plenty of wind but no racing on the Hauraki Gulf course today. In the Viaduct Basin lots of fans
are disappointed the race committee agrees - but has to stick to the rules. The race committee isexpected to have a
tough decision tomorrow on whether to race. Good day on the beach tomorrow but will be touch and go to have racing. If
this unusual weather pattern of wind on non-race days but none on race days then the race committee may have

AUCKLAND JAM: Traffic jams in Auckland today with two accidents on the Southern Motorway.
BUS IN LOUNGE: Bus crashes into house in Christchurch. The house is left with a bus in its lounge.
PETER ELLIS: Justice Minister Phil Goff met some parents of the victims in the Christchurch Civic Creche case. Six of
the parents met with Goff. Goff says the parents are genuine as are the supporters of Peter Ellis. Goff says the
question he has to address is did the system work. Ellis says it didn't. Ellis will be interviewed on TV3 on 20/20 on
Sunday.
